IC Information:
Name: Dirk Strider-->Dirk Sutherland
Canon and medium: Homestuck; Webcomic
Age: 16-->17
Preincarnation Species: Human
Preincarnation Appearance: Bam
Any differences: His eyes will be blue instead of the inhuman orange they are normally, and instead of being aracial, he's Caucasian, got pale blond hair (almost looks white), and is about 6 feet tall. Also no tattoo on his arm!
Preincarnated History: BAM

Dirk was born via ectobiology, which is a weird test-tube baby cloning thing. Homestuck. He was then sent to an alternate reality, as well as 400 years into the future. There he grew up in a post apocalyptic, flooded Earth, after the alien take over 400 years previously. Which was accomplished with one singular alien, Her Imperious Condescension. With him being the last man on Earth and his friend Roxy being the last woman on Earth. Needless to say, it was a pretty lonely existence, even with them being able to communicate with each other via the internet, and two others who were 400 years in the past.

He was able to develop quite the set of skills in robotics with his isolated life in the future, making himself Sawtooth and Squareware, as well as a robotic bunny for Jane's 13th birthday. Honestly, with his life being so isolated to his suspended apartment above the global wide ocean, he was able to develop a lot of skills. None of which were of the social variety, which leaves him seeming pretty robotic like sometimes.

Eventually, Dirk and his friends have to play SBURB, which is an universe destroying/creating game and is responsible for their existence in the first place. Upon nearly everyone dying before getting in the game, through a carefully plotted and even more carefully executed series of events, Dirk basically saves everyone (with the help of Jake saving him), and they are able to enter the medium.

From there, Dirk and Jake end up a couple, which Dirk had been harboring a 3 year old crush on Jake up till then. They date for a few months, go on adventures on their respective planets, fight the nearly impossible to kill skeletons inhabiting their worlds, etc. But shit goes down hill when Jake stops responding to Dirk's messages. Finding his boyfriend to be overbearing, but unwilling to tell him as such. Eventually some crazy cherub inspired shenanigans go down, and they all become tricksters (psychotic colorful versions of themselves who are obsessed with marrying each other and having babies, PLEASE DON'T ASK). However Dirk is left unaffected. Even if he does change to look like his trickster self, his personality stays the same and he ends up breaking up with Jake by the end of it all, calling him an asshole and ripping him a new one about how he mistreated him.

After the whole trickster ordeal wears off, the four of them awake on their quest beds, and after some serious feelings talk, where Dirk admits he thinks his own insanity scared Jake off, they are all killed. Jane and Jake, who were on Prospit, by a Caliborn(THE BAD GUY) possessed Jack, while Dirk and Roxy, who were on Derse, are killed by the Condesce. They of course end up coming back, revived by going God Tier, but that sort of joy is short lived when Jade appears. She teleports Jack elsewhere to help Jane and Jake, but is soon taken control by Condy. This results in Dirk being teleported to bum fuck no where in space, while Roxy and Jake are kidnapped, and Jane is taken control of by the Condesce as well. All of them being used to carry out Condesce's schemes, which Dirk had no part in it, so he's just kinda left out of it.

This basically leaves Dirk far removed from the events transpiring currently in canon, though he's trying to catch up with them all as fast as possible!

Reincarnated History: Anything involving Tony, Dallen, and Harper has been approved by their players!

Dirk was born into a well off family in Los Angeles, both parents bringing in quite a bit of dough between their respective careers. So for the most part, Dirk wanted for nothing. Or, well, nothing money could buy anyway. With his parents working all the time, that left Dirk alone for the most part. Even with him growing up and going to school, mind you the best school Locke City had to offer, he still felt pretty alone most the time.

Dirk's an odd child, far more intelligent than the typical kid, and far more distant. Even with his exposure to more social interactions and what not, he still keeps to himself for the most part. He's pretty humble comparatively speaking when it comes to the kids his age who come from backgrounds similar to his. Lots of money, thoroughly spoiled, etc... But Dirk wasn't ever one to take what people gave him for granted, he always proved to be more about what he could get for himself. How he could prove himself, his own worth, and so on.

It's pretty needless to say that even in a crowded room of his peers, Dirk often times felt pretty alone. He was an only child, and while he had cousins (Dallen and Harper), they lived pretty far away. So most contact was through the internet. He'd make friends, few and far between, but his own distance and oddities kept them as acquaintances at best. However, that all changed when moved to Locke City around the age of 14 and he met Tony.

They were both 14 at the time when Tony chose Dirk as his pickpocket target, and if not for Dirk's own perceptiveness, Tony would have easily gotten away with his wallet. However, with Dirk catching him the act, Tony backed down, giving him his wallet back. Maybe anyone else would have made a scene, would have reported Tony to the police, however Dirk did neither. Instead, he offered to buy the poor, starved, and homeless teen a meal. And from there they fostered a friendship between them. Filled with Dirk helping Tony out best he could. Letting him stay at his house while the parents were out, offering him food, and even clothes sometimes.

With Dirk only being a 17 year old kid, he's found it difficult to help his friend from his position, but he does so all the same. He mother hens Tony sometimes, trying to help him get to a better place than where he's at, trying to push him to beyond what limits Tony's unfortunate life has set for him, all the while worrying about his own life, school, and what not. But Dirk has never felt more right about things than he does now with Tony as his friend, and having someone he can help.

First Echo: During the summer when Dirk was around 15, his father's car was having issues, and without time to take it into the shop, he took a taxi to work. Dirk, however, decided to take a look at his Dad's car. There really wasn't any reason for him to think he could solve anything, he wasn't mechanically inclined as far as he knew, but it was his insatiable curiosity that lead him to his first echo. As he began to look over the engine, and tamper with things, generally working with the mechanics of the engine is what spawned those weird numbers and his past life's talent with mechanics.

Though he didn't remember that this talent was linked with robotics, he was able to apply that sudden spawn of knowledge to what he was doing. And with making a few trips to the store via skateboard to get the new parts needed; he was able to fix his father's car. Even well before he came home from work. Needless to say, having Dirk around from then forward certainly saved them from ever having to go to the shop again.

Preincarnation Personality: Let’s just start this off simply: Dirk is a complicated sort of fellow. Between his love of ironic things(most of which definitely waltz into a realm quite questionable), philosophies, artificial intelligence, and numbers, he’s quite an interesting and eccentric young man. Wearing a stoic face at nearly all times, one would assume from presentation alone that he’s quite serious or stern, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. That isn’t to say that Dirk can’t be serious, because he definitely can, but more so to say he has quite the sense of humor, one that dances with the fine line of sincerity and jesting. In fact, a lot of what he says are jokes, though most don’t catch that, so his seriousness is a hard thing to detect quite honestly. Or, should rather say, his sincerity.

However, this isn’t to say Dirk isn’t a sincere guy when it counts, he definitely is. He’s definitely the sort to care and sometimes he cares a little too much. This fact can prove to be annoying to his friends, since how he tends to show his care is through challenges and in teaching his friends lessons. An example of one such time would be when Jake needed more uranium, and instead of just sending him more, he insists that he fights Brobot instead. All in an attempt to teach him to be more conservative of it, instead of wasting it like he had done. He also tends to nag at his friends as well, telling Jane to be more like Jake and Jake to be more like Jane, both of them opposites when it comes to skepticism. Jane being far too skeptical for Dirk’s liking, and Jake being far less skeptical, mainly due to being so naive.

Along with teaching his friends lessons and challenging them, he does like to give them gifts. Dirk is a very giving guy to be quite honest, whether it be sending robots to friends as gifts 400 years in the past(Oh ya Dirk is totes from the future btw), or even drawing questionable porn for an alien from an unknown time and place. He’s hardly ever seen saying no to anyone really, except maybe in reference to the uranium fiasco with Jake, but even then it isn’t a no, so much as he needs to learn a lesson. Even STILL, he’d get the uranium in the end.

Despite all these obvious signs of caring, Dirk’s still really hard to read, as mentioned before. He gives enough of a hint to show a slightest bit of sincerity, of feeling, but masks the rest of it in irony. Which one would assume maybe he’s hiding BEHIND irony, but to be honest in his ironic endeavors, he’s also showing a bit of himself. He himself says that ironic interests still stem from a bit of sincerity, even if it’s miniscule. Which brings us to some of Dirk’s ironic likes. Dirk is an interesting fellow by personality alone, but his interests are a whole different story. Dirk loves horses, just gonna put that out there, he has works of art in his apartment of them, watches My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, even though it’s supposedly of a purely academic reason--though he admits to liking Rainbow Dash, because she’s just so SPUNKY! But there’s also the... body paint covered furry muscle men that really can raise some questions. Obviously something drenched in ironic like--but there’s still the fact there IS the smidgen of sincerity in it that causes those eyebrows to rise. Dirk sure is weird! However, much like his Beta universe self, he also has smuppets. Phallic-nosed ass puppets with the plushest rumps one could ever hope to feel. I’m certain that alone says a lot about Dirk.

Speaking of Phallic-nosed ass puppets, there’s a bit more to Dirk and Jake’s relationship. That is of course that he’s had quite a crush on Jake. For about three years. Dirk is ever dedicated, another great part about him, to his friends, to his cause, to the person he’s harboring romantic interest in--so much so, that he was able to put together a plan with such great dedication and competence that he was able to not only save all of his friends and get it so they could enter the game, but also set it up so that Jake could be the hero like one of his action movies--as well as get a kiss. Who cares if it was his severed head that got the kiss, it was like pure Hollywood. One could say Dirk’s a bit of a show off, with his robotic accomplishments and over all skills, but hey, who can honestly blame him?

That’s another thing worth mention: Dirk is extremely competent in everything he does. To the point that during all of that running around, corpse smooching, and saving everyone, he cut off his own head and planned everything so perfectly, with such a short amount of time to act, it was almost like the process of a computer. So little lenience for error, and even when anomalies did show up in his plan (Jake and Jane showing up on Derse for example), he was able to act fast and make adjustments in record time. Dirk is extremely intelligent and very flexible, as well as quick thinking. He’s almost like a computer himself, even his own Auto Responder gives him shit about it.

Though, with the mention of Dirk beheading himself, that also brings forth another quality of Dirk’s: his faith in his friends. Specifically Jake. If Jake wasn’t able to follow through with kissing Dirk and waking him up, then all of Dirk’s plan would have been for naught. Everything rested on Jake’s shoulders, and Dirk put the utmost faith in him to not only save him, but to save all of them. That shows outstanding faith and belief in a person, so much so that Dirk was willing to commit suicide without much hesitation. If anything was a test of faith, it was this. Which is honestly remarkable all things considered.

Dirk grew up basically alone, the human race extinct sans him and Roxy, so it’s interesting that despite having every excuse to be entirely closed off and distant, not to mention utterly lacking of faith in anyone, Dirk isn’t. Sure, he’s certain aloof and come across as pretty distant at times, but he’s far from faithless, as mentioned, and pretty damn close to his friends. Not to mention attached. This could be due to the loneliness that’s obviously gripping in a situation like his, having only robots to really converse with face-to-face, and while Roxy existed in his time, she was 2000 miles away. Dirk is an impressive guy, through faith, dedication, intelligence, and over all competence.

However, we do get to see Dirk's far more emotional side eventually. With all his calm and stoicism breaking apart as he's left completely hurt and besides himself after Jake's left him neglected and ignored despite them being boyfriends. We also get to see how much Dirk has quite the conflicted view on himself, and despite all his confidence he seems to exude, he actually belittles himself quite a bit. He isn't the best at handling his emotions, and seems to be completely hopeless when they overpower his usual stoic control.

Dirk is so caring of a guy, and he feels way too much, which is why he tries to control everything through logic, and not so much through emotions. He can't really control emotions, and that's not a thing Dirk really enjoys. So when his patience and stoicism wears thin, he can be pretty dang emotional. Of course, not the sappy crying sort, but more so completely emotionally distressed that he has a hard time keeping himself together.

He’s got a stoic face (for the most part), but a heart of gold, which it’s really only fitting for someone with Heart as their aspect. He was the puppet master behind their group, but not only because of some sense of needing to control, but also to protect and take care of his friends. He’s got the patience of a saint typically, even if he can still get annoyed sometimes, but out of the four of them, Dirk’s definitely one of the most mature of the group. He almost acts like an older brother to those he cares about. Fitting, what with his alternate universe self taking that exact role for Dave.

Any differences:
For one he won't rap like his preincarnated self did. He's a fan of the genre, but he's never quite picked up he habit of doing it like he did in his past life. He might rap the lyrics of songs he likes and what not, but it's no more a talent or hobby than it is for anyone who sings along with their favorite songs.

He's also a bit more open than his past self was, having regular interactions with people leaves him with less of a need to stoic himself up against people. He isn't COMPLETELY open, of course, but he doesn't come across so much as a robot with no feelings as he might have to people in his past life. Mostly due to the fact he has had a healthy dose of social interactions and thus can respond more naturally to them.

He also isn't into Past life Dirk's more ironic interests, in fact, he doesn't aim to be especially ironic. While he has no issue liking what he does, like anime, manga, philosophy, history, and so on, he doesn't seek out things to ironically like. For example, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (or the STE equivalent there of). He hasn't taken up an interest in that, as his past life self did. He pretty much ignores it entirely. Along with furries. And puppets. He's a lot more mundane with his interests. This isn't to say he doesn't have a sense of humor similar to his past life's, he does, it's just crafted a bit differently.

Another thing, is Dirk is in the closet still concerning his sexual orientation. While pastlife!Dirk grew up in a dead society where pressure and preconceived ideas about homosexuality wasn't really a thing for him, this Dirk is living in 2k14. Which is still pretty open than how it used to be, but he's felt it easier to keep quiet with the whole thing. So he also in turn doesn't have as much of a problem labeling his sexuality as his past life did, but he's far less comfortable with his own orientation than his past life was.

Abilities:
Flashstepping: Dirk has the ability to move at super high speeds. He's nearly invisible when he moves this fast. Who knows how he can do it, but boy howdy he can.

Anime Sword Fighting: He's very skilled at fighting with a katana, can cut down giant robots and shit with ease. Obviously due to years of practice on his own robots he makes to spar with.

Strength: Dirk is pretty damn strong. He can slice through robots with ease, which says quite a bit about his over all strength when comparing to an average human. He's so superman, but he's not average Joe either.

Nimble and Quick Reflexes: Dirk is very acrobatic and has demonstrated he has some quick reflexes. He's able to do parkour-like stunts, maneuver a rocket board and do tricks on it with ease while having two other people on board with him. He's also demonstrated his swift reflexes and nimbleness while fighting the Condy's Drones.

Soul Destroying powers: Since he's the Prince of Heart, he can destroy people's souls. As in literally rip them out of their bodies and destroy them. Fun stuff.

God Tier flight/conditional immortality: Those who reach god tier can fly, as well as have a conditional means of immortality. Dirk will never die of old age, nor will he die of natural causes. He can only remain dead when killed justly or dies a heroic death, otherwise he'll resurrect a few minutes later.

Roleplay Sample - Third Person: Here ya go

Roleplay Sample - Network:
I can't say this was expected. But I guess there's bound to be secret networking everywhere.
At least this gives a basic explanation as to what those numbers were for, because, believe me, the curiosity was enough to drive a man mad over the years.
I was two seconds away from being put in a straitjacket, locked up in solitary confinement for the rest of my miserable days. Fuckin' tragic.
So, who wants to be the first to step up and help a bro out, hand over the hot deets to this place like a generous helping of brainfeed to some poor unfortunate soul who's a bit left out of the know?
And while we're at it, we should probably get to know each other. Guess I should start.
Sup, I'm Dirk, and I'm not an alcoholic.
